byasmin 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Hi, I have been banded on Sept 11th, '08 in Turkey. Currently i have lost 20 kilos (aprox. 44 pounds) I have only seen my doctor once after surgery and did not have any fills yet. My doc told me to take some time, go on with my life and try not think about the band. I am going to see him next week. I have had psychological problems rather than pain. I use to have really bad headaches like brain-freeze 2 weeks after my surgery and it lasted for a month. I did not know the reason and never went to doctor but during that time i was worrying about the band so much so i am pretty sure it was psychological. I did have a check-up though and everything looked fine. I guess since i am a control freak, the band was not easy for me. Since there is something in my body that i cannot control, it scares me that it could do smthg bad to me. I eat fine, since i am scared all the time, i dont eat much at all. I guess thats how i lost the 44 pounds without any fills. These days i am planning to get fills but i am scared that i might throw up after a meal or i would feel some pain. I wish some day these scary thoughts will go away and i ll feel like i used to..
mss 1 Posted November 20, 2008 Is there a psychologist nearby that you would be able to see for some help with the feelings of worry you are experiencing? If you remember to follow the bandster rules eg. eat slowly, chew chew chew, don't drink with your meal and listen to your body and stop eating before you fill over-full you are less likely to experience the type of vomiting that we do however there is always a risk of it happening. If it does happen you will be ok. I wish you all the best.
