ginger334 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Hi everyone,I was wondering if anyone knows how the surgeons handles someone with severe sleep apnea. I have a C Pap,but even with it I still have to use positional therapy and sleep on my side. I'm scared that this will disqualify me for the surgery. spal66 1 Posted November 19, 2008 Hello, I too have sleep apnea and when I had my surgery there was no issue with it. The anesthesiologist did discuss my apnea with me and I did ask if it was a problem and he said no. thinkingslim70 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi I have severe sleep anpnea too (100 times per hour). My surgery is scheduled for the 8th Dec and the only thing I have been told is to ensure I have my CPAP with me at the hospital. Willowglen 5 Posted November 20, 2008 Most over weight people have sleep apnia and it will not prevent you from having the surgery. I also have sleep apnia and needed 16# pressure to stabilize.
