hopeful for new me

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone. I had lapband surgery 3 weeks ago. It has been the biggest decision I have ever made. At first I regretted my decision to have the lapband but I know that my life and my weight has to change in order for me to live. Hope to have a success story in the future. Thanks for all the support. :rolleyes2:

You will have a success story in the future. I had lapband surgery on Oct. 1, by Dr. Nease at Cabell Huntington Hospital. I have lost 20.2 pounds as of 11-14-08, I had my first fill (3cc)on that day. I choose not to weigh myself very often...it's a me thing...if I don't see a loss each time-I get discouraged so I don't get weighed more than once a month. My clothes are getting baggy (Yeah!!). Good luck to you. I rarely get hungry, don't even think about food like I used to.

I'm from Pt. Pleasant, where are you located?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
