120inside 0 Posted November 19, 2008 So I already have my referral from my PCM and I am supposed to go see the surgeon on 12/3/08. I am a little scared cause I am at the borderline mark and I am scared Tricare won't approve. I am 5'2 small frame and weigh 194 and I have PCOS. Does anyone know if tri-care considers PSOC a co-morbid? (I think that is what they call it) Also, what do you think the chances are that tricare will approve my lap-band. Any helpful information that anyone has regarding having this surgery through tricare at a military hospital would be much appreciated. We are stationed at Ft. Lewis and I will be having the surgery at Madigan if Tricare approves it.
JamieNP 20 Posted November 19, 2008 They go by the met life weight chart and use medium frame. If you are under they will deny.I was there and had to gain the weight to be appoved.
cobrien78 0 Posted November 19, 2008 I have PCOS and really nothing else so I think they do consider it a co-morbidity. As far as approval, I think it just depends on who gets your paperwork to review. I was worried but I did get approved. Good luck!
