mgirl 0 Posted November 18, 2008 Hi, I am a week out and just had to sneeze for the first time. I could barely get the sneeze out because my chest is still so heavy. Did anyone else have this experience?
Tyme2GetRite 0 Posted November 18, 2008 Hello MGirl, i know when i came home i had to hold my stomach when i got ready to sneeze and it hurt more than anything. i think your chest feels heavy because your lungs has not went back to thier capacity on breathing like they use to. While in the hospital that's why they had you do those breathing exercises and had you to continue to take deep breaths. it is normal and will go away soon, of course i'm not a Dr. but i did feel what you are feeling. sash 0 Posted November 18, 2008 I remember having a feeling like this after surgery. I thought it was the swelling in my abdomen pushing on my diaphram. The one thing that seemed to help was walking. I walked as much as I could. It seemed to relieve the pressure on my lungs. I'm not sure if this is the feeling you have but it is certainly worth a try.
