For the pureed part of the diet did anyone opt to use baby food? I have a problem with eating pureed food LOL so I was wondering if baby food is an option? I have not had the surgery yet....but hoping to soon...so I was wondering peoples ideas on baby food! :)

Yes, I still keep it in the house for mushies after a fill. It is very convenient and the portions are just right. I season the meat and veggies and heat it add a small jar of fruit and it is a pretty good meal (for mushies, anyway)

I bought some baby food and was not able to eat it because of the taste. I know why babies dont want to eat that crap. I ate applesauce, Soups, squash and cottage cheese it the mushy stage:smile:

agreed, my mom said i was fussy w/baby food as a baby ; couldn't imagine it now. there are a lot more choices of adult food to choose from in the mushy stage.

Wow, Thanks guys! I am hoping to try the baby food idea. I am a bland eater anyways. So hopefully I will be able to do the baby food! I hear Banana is so yummy though. Anyone else have any other suggestions to what is good through the mushy stage other than baby food?

I think thats a great idea. When u have your surgey, u are going to have to go on a liquid diet, then soft food diet. After you get your fills u may want to use baby food. Other than that u may want to stick to regular foods so you can get your nutrition.

I actually liked the baby food.

I eat banana baby food as a snack sometimes anyway, so this was just trying different things.

I never did try actual meals (like lasagna, or chicken & rice.. that sounded pretty gross) but I ate foods, that I would normally squish up to eat anyway.. Butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and peas. I put salt on the squash & peas and heated them up.. I thought they were very good for what it was.

Banana baby food, I still eat & love :(

The butternut squash was my favorite salty food, with a dash of salt in it.. yum yum.

The sweet potatoes were pretty good too, I probably added butter to them as well.

Hello there! In our discussion group last week. The nutritionist mentioned baby food as a great addition. The key is to season it as you like. If you are a bland eater, you probably won't have too much of a problem. That is definitely on my list of additions after surgery. I want to be certain to have plenty of things so that I do not allow my mind to convince me that I am "bored" with the foods! Best of success. Keep us posted.

Having a 13 month old I have actually thought about this too. Some of the foods we have fed him over the last several months haven't smelt to bad. I have yet to taste any but my wife has and she's almost always said they aren't to bad. I just might have to try some once in the mushies stage.

I am guessing also that a jar of baby food is also like the perfect size for Portion Control for the mushies stage after surgery. Does that sound right to those of you who already had the surgery?

Yeah Pete, I would have the larger "entree" jars of say beef and vegetables or chicken and vegetables with a small jar of fruit. Or a small jar of meat along with a small jar of a veggie with a jar of fruit The jars of Cereal and fruit mixed together are good too and a little more filling than fruit alone...good when you are extra hungry. The baby food works well for me, I had a lot of waste when I would open cans of refried Beans or Soup.< /p>

For those who say it is too bland, you just have to add some seasoning to it and it tastes pretty darn good!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
