MellyB 0 Posted November 17, 2008 I am on day 8 of my 10 day pre-op diet. Today is the first day of all liquids. I have really had a personality change in the past week, so noticeable that it has my family concerned. Mostly I seem to be very quiet, because if I start to get vocal I'm all over the place. I love a good joke, but if someone tells me something I just sit and stare at them. I'm very, very out of sorts. Blending into the woodwork. I'm hoping that this is temporary. That once I have the surgery and I get through the hard parts that I'll be back to my old funny, sociable self. I'm aware it's an issue, but I can't seem to pull myself up and out of it right now, right now I just want to focus on me and what ever I have left is reserved for my kids. Tell me that it is part of it and that it will pass.
Angelhope1982 0 Posted November 17, 2008 Melly- I know what you are saying. I am on 14 pre op last day. I have been fine, then this weekend. I was all crazy. I was getting upset with my best friend for nothing. We work together so we see each other fri- sun for 12+ hours a day. Never get upset or mad. I just getting upset about everything. Just didnt feel like my self. I am better now. I dont know what he problem was. I think my mind is just working through everything right now. We will be back to our old selves soon, just small selfs. SuzanneG 1 Posted November 17, 2008 Pre-op and liquid post op diets made me really grumpy. DH and kids threatened to send me to Siberia until I could eat again. Once I got back on food, my former self made a reappearance and all was well. Take heart, you'll be fine once you get past the deprevation stage.
betrthnever 107 Posted November 17, 2008 We have to fast after a band fill and just the 3 day fast can throw me out of sorts. That's why I just can't seem to go any longer then 2 days on the fast. I think its normal
laurigee 545 Posted November 18, 2008 I think we are just like someone that has quit smoking. They get crabby, quiet, moody, edgy. All the great emotions that come out when we are wheening ourselves off of our addiction. It is an emotional battle, but it will start getting better, day by day. Good Luck
TulipStar 2 Posted November 18, 2008 It's part of the whole process. It's hard to let go and become the new person you will become. You'll snap out of it. Everyone goes up and down.
