Linds 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Hi Alfie, and welcome to bandster land UK. Where were you banded and who was your surgeon? I was banded over 5 years ago now at the QMC in Notts by Mr Beckingham and have had a great time with my band....just wish my head could stay in sync. I am back on the wagon at the mo and the weight is shifting again so am enjoying the journey once more. My band is my friend and long may it continue to be so. Treat it nice and it will be good to you Alfie. Let us know how you get on over the coming months....just remember Rome wasn't built in a day so don't expect to lose the weight you've gained overnight. Good luck...you've taken a good first step. Maincat 14 Posted November 16, 2008 Hello Alfie, Good luck with your band and the weight loss journey. I too was a BMI of 41 so I can relate to that. Work hard, eat healthily and stay focussed. Remember the band cannot work on its own - it needs you to change the lifestyle that made you overweight in the first place.
Miss Flump 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Hi there Alfie, I am a 31 year old female from UK who is flying to Brussels on 22 December to get banded. I fly home on Christmas Eve!! I am nervous but excited. I can't wait to start this new journey. I've never been slim, so am extremely curious about what the future holds after being banded. It would be sooo nice to be in a healthy weight range for the first time in my life. Hope you're well. Miss Flump x

Be prepared however to be in pain for a few days after and i mean pain. Not to put you off but it really hurt but who cares in the end if it worked. I'm not feeling better after 5 days and on full liquid diet. I often feel nausea but i have not thrown up at all. So far so good. Anything you want to ask me in public chat or priv message me i will tell you anything you need Edited November 18, 2008 by alfie858 spelling
