Going in for my Second Fill

Recommended Posts

I haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks, I had my first fill, but I think it wasn't enough, so yesterday I called my Doctor and told him, will his nurse what was going on, she said I need a fill and I think I do too.

I'm getting hungry in between meals and I've noticed I can eat more food then before. I really don't want to start getting bad habit's again, so I really need to go in for this one. I'm really angry at myself for not losing any weight for three weeks now. I've also noticed that I can eat almost anything and have no trouble with it going down. Hugs Bobbie:confused::thumbup::confused::thumbup:

I feel what you are going through. I got my first fill two weeks ago and it was too tight so I have been on liquids and mushies for the last two weeks. I have lost only 4lbs and I feel frustrated that I am suffering through the liquids and not able to enjoy solid food and I still can't lose much weight.

You could have been talking about me. I go for my 2nd fill this week. Hopefully we will both get some restriction and relief from the hunger. Hang in there!

Same here. I go in day after tomorrow and I'm kind of embarrassed that I haven't lost any weight. I feel kind of ashamed to face my dr.:)

I know how you feel about the embarrassment but we really need to give ourselves a break. Even though we want to be poster patients, we really are human with good and bad days and I am sure you doctor has seen everything. Maybe he can help you pinpoint what you need to do to succeed more. Just remember, you have already lost 36 lbs and have not gained. Think positive!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
