2nd fill and now no restrictions

Recommended Posts

I just had my 2nd fill on Monday, and it's weird because now I don't feel like there's any restrictions at all. After the first fill I immediately knew when my Dr. filled it too full and I couldn't get Water down, so he then removed 1 cc and I was able to eat and drink but only slowly with a lot of thought given to chewing throughly. After this last fill it's like there's no restictions, I've purposely eaten large chunks of meat and they go down fine without any pain or regurgitation. What could be wrong?

It could take some time to "kick in". I have been losing weight steadily since being banded in July. I'm one of those people who've felt restriction right away. I only had 1 fill 2 months post-surgery of 0.5 cc and didn't feel any difference until around 3 weeks later! I then started to notice that I had to be really careful about how much I put into my mouth, to chew VERY well, and eat slow. The nurse at the office said it could take a week to feel the restriction but it was at least 3 weeks before I felt it. Everyone's different but this was my experience. Be patient, it could take some time to happen. Good luck to you!

Well I had my 4th fill on Thursday and I am @ 7.5cc's and I can definately feel and tell the diffrence. before when i ate i could eat just about all if not all of my food. Now don't get me wrong my portions have been cut down but I know i didn't have the restriction I wanted.. After thursday... baby This is all good... If this is the sweet spot i am LOVIN IT..... See i have come to realize that when u have the proper restriction u eat a few bites and you are done.. thats why they say eat something every few hours to make sure u get in enough.. but when you can finish all of your food the proper restriction isn't there yet.. U will prob. get to that sweet spot in a few more months.. Keep up the great work it is definately a work in progress...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
