I'm bummed: protein powder

Recommended Posts

I ordered the sample pack of Protein Shake mixes for Optimum Nutrition from Netrition and tried them all to figure out which one I'd like to have on hand for when I can't get in all of my Protein from food. Well... I have one I really wanted to order and they don't have that one flavor for individual purchase! Now I have to try to find it somewhere and hope it's the same one.... sorry, just had to vent a little.

What are some other online shopping cites for ordering Protein powder? I'm looking for the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% whey in Extreme Milk chocolate... Any ideas? I'm so new to this online shopping thing for supplements and I'd appreciate any help you may have.

Awesome, someone else who likes the Optimum Nutrition! My husband has always ordered this stuff for himself, and when I decided to get the band I started trying all his flavors (he has several). Currently, I'm on this kick where I mix half a scoop of the vanilla Ice Cream flavor with half a scoop of the Rocky Road flavor (my husband says Rocky Road is the best chocolate flavor they have!). I mix those two flavors with 8-10oz of 2% milk, add about 3 ice cubes, and blend it in the Bullet for a few seconds. :Dancing_wub:

You should definitely invest in the Rocky Road if you like chocolate Protein shakes. :Dancing_sorry:

I ordered my Protein powder from www.unjury.com. I read about it here on lapbandtalk.com. It is really not too bad. It is a lot smoother in texture than the stuff I bought from GNC. They even send you recipes with your order. Hope this helps.

I ordered the individuals that powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury had for sale. I got one of each flavor, and personally, I didn't enjoy them half as much as the Optimum Nutrition flavors I've tried.

Jmegirl, where do you guys get your Optimum Nutrition powder? I tried the Rocky Road and it was a little too sweet for me. The Extreme Milk Choc reminds me of a frosty from Wendys.

We order from them because they have really great prices. They've also got all sorts of free stuff they give away when you order a certain dollar amount - like a free t-shirt with $100 purchase. Plus, the company is based about 3hrs away from us, so even their cheapest ground shipping gets here in 2 days.

I ordered a sample bag of Protein drinks from www.bariatriceating.com - my favorite is the ready-to-drink "Oh Yeah" in vanilla cream - even my teenage daughters love it! Good Luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
