1. 1. Where would you move your port to?

    • Ontop of my ribcage/breastbone, a little to one side
    • Ontop of my ribcage/breastbone, centered between breasts
    • Just below my ribcage, a little to one side
    • Just below my breastbone, centered
    • Next to my belly button a little to one side
    • Just above my belly button, centered
    • Just below my belly button, centered
    • Below my waistline/button, toward either pelvic/hipbone
    • Up near one shoulder
      0
    • All the way over to on my side (Tell me where)
      0
    • Other (Tell me where)

I just found out I have a choice and can put the port just about anywhere on my body (I think that still means only on the front, not back of my body). I’m hearing that many of you have had issues with where it is as you’ve gotten thinner (now: shows, hurts ribs, bothers you with clothing/beltline, moved, flipped because of loc., etc.). So…<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

For those who are near goal/goal (or if you’re down enough now to know how you’d answer this). If you were starting over, and could mark and “X” right where you want your port…where would you put it (so where would you move yours to)? If it's over to one side I don't care about right/left as everyone has a different answer to this based on dominate side, which side you sleep on, etc.

I am not at goal, but I love where mine is. It's comfortable. I have lost enough weight around it, that if you look close you can see a small bump where it is. In time I'll switch over to a low profile port (you may want to request that). I quite quickly was where I wish I had the lower profile port. It's a simple surgery, so no biggy.

Mine is about 3" left (my left) of my belly button. I am about 20 lbs from goal. I am good with this location. Only drawback, high waisted pants that are a little snug sometimes bother it.

My fix, buy new pants in my new smaller size that sit a bit below my waist.

I only had my surgery July 30th however the surgeon stuck the port in an area that it poked out about 1/8" then I got sick and it flipped... Just had it redone yesterday. I had it put to the left of my belly button and about a quarter inch up. But I tell you this it hurts and it hurts bad... I am sure the pain will go away but bending right now is an excruciating pain. Things like getting out of bed and just trying to stand up is unbelievable. But I think it will be worth it not having this giant knot under my breast...

Well, as a guy, I can say this in all honesty... Not trying to be offensive... But I gotta go with the taint. It's basically a useless area that no one ever sees. The port wouldn't ever be noticed or get in the way.

Sure, fills might be a little interesting...

Yeah, I know it's not exactly realistic.

LOL-Willowglen .... if only!

I like where mine is located. I have a low profile port, so maybe that makes a difference. It's left of center, about an inch below my ribcage but above my waistline.

Mine's left of centre about 2 inches below my ribs. I like it there, its comfortable and as you're NEVER likely to catch me in nana jeans it comes nowhere near the waist of anything I wear.

The only reason I'd move it is its somewhat visible. The only place I can think of on my body that it would never be seen is on my bum - that would never get skinny enough, lol, but then again maybe they'd have trouble finding it. But it wouldnt be nice to sit on.

Mine was moved during PS about 3 inches above my right hip bone. My bariatric surgeon had a really hard time because my waist and torso is so narrow now that there really was no good place to put it. In my opinion the port is a giant flaw in the system - I love my band but hate my port - always in the way somehow.

Mine sits in the top roll of my saggy skin, in the muffin top, or more like portobella top that sits above the waist of all my pants. I would like it lower.

It will get replaces with a low profile port when I have plastic surgery in the spring. I'm going to see if they can move it lower at that time .

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
