New Blender - Magic Bullet?

Recommended Posts

As my surgery nears (next Wednesday!) I realize I need to upgrade my blender from the $10 Wallgreens special! Has anyone used the Magic Bullet -- it looks like it would be good for a variety of post-lap band surgery uses. But it's like $60 so I wanted to throw the question out to the board before I bought it.

I bought the QVC version of the Magic Bullet and I used it daily for about a month after banding. You probably could get away with your blender, but the Bullet-type gadgets are so convienient. They take up little space, they clean up in a snap and you can drink right out of the cups.

I use mine now just to do quick cooking tasks like shredding cheese and chopping onions quick. I've also made quick Soups with canned tomatoes or broccoli and cheese with a little milk mixed in.

I LOVE MY BULLET!!! It's not only convenient, but the size of it is perfect. I can make things in it for just one serving or I can use the bigger "cup" and make something for my hubby and myself!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

You can also find the "off brands" that work just as good and are alot less expensive..our JC Penny's actually has one for 19.00 that is really nice.

I have TWO Magic Bullets and LOVE them. We use them for everything. Definately worth the money you would spend on one.

I'm actually thinking of getting a second one to keep at my mom and dads house so I don't have to pack it with me when I go to visit them.... I'll have to check out the JCP version. Thanks!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
