Anthem Blue Cross PPO in Ca Surgeon???

Recommended Posts

Hi I am desperately trying to find a surgeon who is In-Network for an Anthem Blue Cross Ca PPO. I live in Ventura County but am willing to travel to the San Fernando Valley if necessary. I can not seem to find a contracted doctor. Blue Cross gave me a list of 30 some odd doctors and I have called 19 so far and have had no luck finding a doctor. Can anyone help me? Oh and Dr. Paya is not In-Network. I had to cancel my appointment. :)

Hey thanks! I actually attended one of his seminars a few months ago and spoke with their office last week. I have an appointment December 5th and am filling out a long packet that I have to turn in. Did you use him?

OH wow CONGRATS!!! that is SO cool! Good luck! Would you mind telling me your process? First I attended the seminar, then I just called and they sent me the info packet, and my first appt is Dec 5th. Can you give me an idea of what to expect at that appointment and what you did before and after? How many appoinments did have after that first visit and how long did you have to wait for the actual surgery? I have no idea what I am going to have to do.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
