cammafacation 0 Posted November 12, 2008 Hello! Cammafacation here but you can call me Cammy. I haven't had lap band surgery, but I am truely interested in it. I don't know anyone who has had this surgery, and I want to know what your challeges were? What was the worst part? Do you find that it works? Do you have more confidence? How much weight have you lost? And how long did it take? Just so you know me, I'm 26 and I'm about 150 pounds over weight. I'm 235 and I should be around 110 (well that's what doctors and stuff tell me.) However I would happy with 150 pounds. I've done so many diets you wouldn't believe. I've exercised and lost a few here and there but nothing really worked. Accept for this one diet, super strict, and as soon as I stoped I gained the weight back. I'm a little scared of sugery because I've never done anything like this before. I'm also scared to tell my family about it. Since I come from a family of "be fit or go home" people. You know where your father asks you to put a shirt on while your swimming because your embarassing him. :cool2: I think they would think this would be cheating, you know? :tt2: Well anyways, I'm new here if I haven't mentioned that, and I would really like to know who you are doing, what did you experience, and if anyone has gone to an exotic country to get it done, like Costa Ricca or India. I hear they do a great job. Your Pal, Cammy
plain 12 Posted November 13, 2008 Hey Cammy, welcome aboard. I love my lapband. It's working pretty great for me. I think the most challenging part of having a band is having to change some old bad habits. The band is really only a bridge to get you to a healthier lifestyle....you still have to do your part....but that's also one of the biggest rewards. The weight loss is pretty rewarding too, lol. It sucks that you may not have strong family support. But there are a ton of friendly people here that will try and help. I would strongly recommend that you start researching all weight loss surgeries before you decide which, if any, are right for you. Good luck!
