Mushie stage: Crackers & Toast Yes or No

Recommended Posts

The list of recommended foods (for the mushies stage) that I got from my doctor includes crackers and toast. I'm at 3 weeks post surgery and I've not had a problem with anything I've eaten so far. My family and I are going to an amusement tomorrow. I need your advice on the cracker thing. Has anyone had problems with crackers or toast during their mushies stage? Please advise!!icon11.gif

Honestly, I did not think crackers or toast were mushy foods. It was not on my list of mushies, if it is on your list and you Dr. says OK to it then Iam sure it will be OK

Worth a try, the crunchier the better. I'd think that toast might still be a bit too chewy, try a cracker and see how it does, but I have been fine eating tostitos with guacamole in my mushie phase. They are thinner and crunchier, and easier to chew to bits. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'll try & I'll make sure I chew and chew.

I too was surprised because I didn't think I'd be able to eat bread, chips, crackers and such anymore. I thought it would clog the band opening. Please let me know what's been your experience with those as well.

Pam,

I have had no problem with either saltine or Ritz crackers. Try them the evening before you are set to go so that you know what you will need to be energized enough to get through the day in a happy, energetic way (at least as much as possible):)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
