How many cc's are in your 10cc band after 2 months?

Recommended Posts

I just posted a similar question regarding fill levels, and I'm just curious about people who were banded around the same time as me...9-22.08. Do you have restriction yet? At what volume did you first fill restriction and how long did it last between fills? Thank you in advance.

I was banded 9/15, I had 6cc put in with the band. On 10/20 I had another 1cc and then on 10/27 another 1cc. I am going in again on 12/1.

How is your restriction level, and how much are you eating per meal?

Oops I just realized I didn't answer about the restriction part...... sorry. I have pretty good restriction, I can eat between 1/2 -1 cup per meal. I rarely snack and if I do it is cottage cheese. (for the protein)

losing it - i've read some of your other threads & going out on a limb, but i'm guessing you have a low BMI?

it might take a few fills to get to restriction. i required 8 & 8.5ccs in the 10cc band before i felt the band working (restriction). over time i had gotten tighter and required 3 unfills; right now i'm at 7.2ccs & haven't had an adjustment since aug.

some fills take a bit to "kick" in. be patient; make good choices food wise; get your fills as your dr will allow ... it will all fall into place.

My BMI is around 34 or 35 now....it just seems like my doc is filling my really fast...not timewise necessarily, but amountwise. I'm really having to use willpower to lose weight right now...but I know its early days. Thanks for the responses!!

Luluc, you have done so well, I'm curious! I have had three fills for a total of 6.1 cc. I just don't know what I'm supposed to feel like when I have a good fill. Should I feel full after a few bites? I eat small portions, but never really have a "full" feeling. Right now, I'm getting hungry in three hrs. or less so I think I need another fill. I'd love to have your advice since you've been so successful.

nancy, i eat around a cup of food at a time - 3X a day with a snack or 2. my dr suggested i continue with fills, so long as i was hungry between meals.

i work out pretty regularly, so a few bites for me wouldn't work - nor would not having a healthy snack during the day. i prefer to be "less restricted" now to get in enough calories to carry me through my workouts.

it was an odd thing, i kept getting fills looking for restriction - then when i had it, i didn't want it. was a lot of trial / error to get to this place right now.

good luck to you!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
