skinnymomtobe 0 Posted November 10, 2008 I was banded on October 28 and feel as though I am a failure. I was very sore for the first 3 days and after that I felt wonderful. To wonderful, I have been eating like I don't have a band. I am not eating as much as I used to but I am eating way more than I am sapposed to and not feeling good about it. I have support from my family I just cant seem to get myself into a routine of things I am sapposed to eat in the portions I have to have. Could someone please help with ideas of ways to change for the good. I am going tomorrow to join the local gym cause I do enjoy exercise and I have to get back to doing it. I am scared I am going to screw this whole thing up.
Guest dammfamily Posted November 10, 2008 I was banded on 10-10-08 and I find it extremely hard especially since I have to cook regular meals for my family. The best thing I have found is to go shopping for small tupperware containers and a small measuring glass that shows ounces measure out your daily meals and keep them close by so that when your hungry you can eat. I eat about every 2 hrs and drink lots of Water inbetween my meals. Protein Shakes are a good source to help get all the Protein in for the day.
Vangirl 0 Posted November 10, 2008 Does your doctor have any type of support group he could refer you to? Most towns or hospitals have one and I'm sure talking to people who know what it's like would help. I was banded on 10-30 and haven't had a fill but everyone says that will help a lot. Don't get down on yourself and try to remember how you felt about your life before the band. Let that be the motivation you need to keep you going. Remember that you already made a very pro-avtive decision about your health. Good luck to you and I'm here if you want to talk. Tammy

lesleyhpr08 0 Posted November 11, 2008 I haven't been banded yet but wanted to tell you that you're not a failure. Like the previous poster said, you are just beginning and you've taken a huge step by having the procedure done. You'll get there, just take one day at a time.
