I frequently travel to NYC so it would be a good location for me personally. I also agree that NJ is close and cheaper while still allowing people to see the big apple with minimal fuss.

Personally, I hate going into NYC and NJ is just too big of a trip. Have you considred Long Island? It a lot cheaper that NYC and probally cheaper than NJ, and has just as much to offer.

Alex and I are working hard to put together the next "National LAP-BAND Conference".

As we are searching venues we are finding NJ is much cheaper than NYC. Per the poll most people are willing to spend $100.00 per night, we found a venue in NJ for $119.00 per night.

So we would like to know if you guys are ok with NJ or if you prefer to actually be in NYC.

At the last confernce the participants said they wanted to enjoy the host city, so you will get the opportunity to spend Saturday evening in NYC.

Alex and I would like an approximate head count as well. If you could answer these questions it will help us to plan an amazing conference for you guys.

What location do you prefer NYC or NJ (keep in mind NJ is much cheaper than NYC)?

We are going to post a poll of "Who's coming" so be sure to answer the poll question as well.

Alex and I hope you are as excited as we are, this is going to be an amazing conference. It will not be the same if you're not there!!

The dates for the conference are 03/27-29/2009

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the suggestion. When we had the Dallas conference in October the group agreed on NYC. We have so many people who have never been to the city and this is a great excuse to get them there :D)

Hi - I never post but read some.

Once a schedule of events is posted - I will chime in on whether I can make the trip or not.

Do many people come alone ???

Thanks !

Ellie

Hi Ellie:

I'll be going by myself.

You can count me in! I would probably come with one or two Lapband.talk friends who live in Westchester NY with me. I would probably prefer it be in NYC if cost was the same. But would come to NJ if it was a big difference in $$. Can't wait to hear the details!

I would love to come to this!

I'm in Northern Virginia, but I will have to wait and see closer to the date. I'm going back to school full-time in January, so it depends on what my semester schedule looks like. :D

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
