Need a good Fill Doctor in Michigan

Recommended Posts

Hey All, I had my surgery 9-29-08 at the Hurley Center in Flint Michigan.. I am not scheduled until 11-21-08 for my first fill.. 1. this location is about 1hour and 15 minutes away. 2. They are short staffed and the wait to get an appointment are far apart. 3. since I am on regular foods and I am watching what I eat I am still gaining weight. I need a fill now. I am looking for another fill center in michigan.. Please...Thanks:blink:

Depends on where in Michigan you live. When I was looking for a fill doctor, I must have called at least 20 different drs in a 100 mile radius of my home. Most are not willing to do fills on people who have had their bands placed elsewhere. I go to Hillsdale Surgical in Hillsdale. Port Huron will do outside fills, as will one of the hospitals in Flint. Also, Kalamazoo has a doctor who will do them as does a doctor in Holland. You also might try Barix Clinic in Ypsi. They did do outside fills and then quit because their doctor left, but that was a year ago. Hope I was of some help. Good luck finding a doctor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
