Hi everyone. I'm new to Lapbandtalk.com. I was just banded on 11/05/08. Things are going pretty well but I do think I will be glad when the liquid phase is over. I will be starting mushies or "blended" food soon. Has anyone ever put split pea Soup or bean soup in the blender for mushies.

I did! I put campbells split pea with ham (or bacon? whichever it is!) and 1 can of Water into the food processor and diced the dickens out of it until it was creamy (I added the water gradually) then heated and ate. It was DELICIOUS! Kept me sane!

I didn't do anything blended....I just couldn't stand the thought of pureed food, but I did mush up the Beans in Campbells Bean & bacon soup and had that. I love bean soup anyway, so it was sort of like "real" food to me. Best of luck to you!

I actually used Progresso Potato, Broccoli, and Cheddar Soup as a good mushie food. I strained the chunks out then mashed the chunks until they were smooth and put them back in the soup... mm, mm, good. Also, I really thought the Cheesy chicken Enchilada soup my progesso was really good tooo. I am a huge fan of Mexican food so it is perfect.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
