Circumferential tt and breat lift

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am just now getting started into plastic surgery consults. I have seen one ps who recommended a circumferential Tummy Tuck with Lipo and a breast lift. Has anyone had these procedures done at the same time? I am most concerned about caring for two kids afterwards. I have 2 boys ages 3 and 6. My husband can help for about 4-5 days, but then has to go back to work. Can anyone tell me how long it took to get back to "normal". I'm excited and scared at the same time.

Cathy

Hi - sorry to tell you that it will take much more than 4-5 days to recover from the circumfrential tt alone. I was really out of comission for at least 2 -3 weeks and not in great shape for another week or two after that. I didnt have a breast lift (yet) but I imagine that another procedure will just ad to your recovery. Is there anyway you can get a family member to help out for a couple of weeks?

I agree with Karen that you will need more time. The worst of it will be over in 4-5 days, but I don't see how you'll care for young children. You won't be able to pick them up, etc. I don't think the breast lift will add much to the entire process. I hardly noticed my breasts when I had my tt. The breasts will swell and be a little sore, but it's more like the feeling of your milk coming in before nursing. It's not that bad. I wish you the best.

Hi Cathy- I agree with the ladies above- I'm 9 days out and can barely care for myself much less kids. You can't lift anything heavy, sit for any extended period of time ( I just now can sit for 20 minutes three times a day). Today was the first day I could shower and then get dressed without assistance.

I encourage you to pursue the surgery however be prepared to get extra assistance from family/friends for at least 3-4 weeks.

Best wishes to you!!

Cathy,

I'm 3 months out now. I agree with the Karen, Karey and Margorie's responses. I was in bed for most of the first 2 weeks. Even if you are able and feel like being up more than I was, you will be extremely tired and will need to rest in between any activity. If it's possible to send your children to a sitter the first 3-4 weeks while your husband is at work, that might be a good option.
