TklMeSkinny 0 Posted March 31, 2009 Your trips to Germany and Italy sound more exciting, but I'd definitely gain some weight there!! I am checking your ticker out and you've lost a couple more pounds than me, got banded about the same time and weigh 2 pounds less!!! Are you still losing steadily or are you at a plateau like me right now? I am definitely at a plateau right now, which is aggravating because I want to be below that 200 mark so bad! I'm exercising every other day, and running on opposite days, so i'm doing something every day! Saturday is my day off, but I don't binge at all. But the 4 lbs just won't come off! I really am OK about it right now, as I am losing inches so at least something is happening. And a 2 lb difference is not that much really! My scale (and yes, i'm truely a Scale Whore!) fluctuates that much almost daily, between morning and night it seems. LOL I'm so excited about going on my trip, except for the food! It's a Love/Hate thing. I know i'll be eating some Pasta and beer and wine and pizza, etc, but know i'm going to be limited. My daughter is already a runner, and with me prepping for this 5K i'm running too, so I'm thinking about getting a BodyBugg to track my calories in and calories out while there. They are expensive, but so was this surgery! And it's going to be worth it! Tkl
gentylwind 1 Posted March 31, 2009 I am doing well...I have reached my sweet spot and eating the way we are meant to is MUCH easier now. I was up and down for about seven weeks while losing my job, but found a new one and am now the insurance coordinator for a very reputable bariatric surgeon, in a great, supportive environment and tracking every bite on MyDailyPlate.com. The scale is moving and I am trying to get out and exercise more than I had been...hard with FT work, school and two kiddos to keep up with. I am happy with my progress so far. I attended a wedding this past weekend and wore my first BCBG dress and felt amazing and beautiful.

Tkl We should start a support group for "Scale Whores" I could be the founder and CEO. Get the Body Bugg(BB)...it is expensive but SSSSOOOOOO worth every penny. I never leave home with out it, only take it off to shower. I absolutely love it. Since adding it to my program I'm down 16 lbs. Now would Ihave lost that weight without the BB? Who knows, but I look at it as ANOTHER tools to aid me on my journey.
DivaStyleCoach 89 Posted March 31, 2009 We should start a support group for "Scale Whores" I could be the founder and CEO. I'm right there with ya - every single day (though I try to avoid it some days), before and after my morning walk, etc, etc, etc...when's the first meeting? :tt2: Get the Body Bugg(BB)...it is expensive but SSSSOOOOOO worth every penny. I never leave home with out it, only take it off to shower. I absolutely love it. Since adding it to my program I'm down 16 lbs. Now would Ihave lost that weight without the BB? Who knows, but I look at it as ANOTHER tools to aid me on my journey. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Bodybugg! I would definately not be having the success that I have had without it. The simple act of logging all of my food and seeing the true 'cost' of falling off the wagon is helping me... I can also see without a doubt that I am a carbohydrate addict - my consumption is several times higher than it should be and I've made the decision to break that particular addiction. The band helps - but ultimately, it's up to me to stop shoving bread, crackers, etc into my mouth! :mad2: Trying to concentrate on more Protein and veggies, and less carbs. It's sometimes tough when I'm having a bad day and the mashed potatoes are calling my name, but I will persevere! :cool2:
TklMeSkinny 0 Posted March 31, 2009 Thanks, dd & ebony, i'm definitely going to get one now!
DivaStyleCoach 89 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Thanks, dd & ebony, i'm definitely going to get one now! I HIGHLY suggest going to look for a gently used one on Ebay. I found mine for about $130, and paid another $99 for the first 6 months of monitoring. After that, it's $99 per year for monitoring. It's the most highly effective tool I've ever used, and I won't leave my house without it. Can ya tell I'm a fan? Edited March 31, 2009 by EbonyRose

I leave 5am Mt time for Africa so you better weigh in early because I'm checking before I leave LOL!! I swear I do better when I stay off the scale. It's sooooo slow when I get on all the time and it never moves. When I weigh just once a week, any loss, even a half a pound seems ok!! I will check n when I get back and compare notes with you. I hope I maintain while on vacation as I will be even more sedentary on this vacation. I'm with you on the pizza, Pasta and Italy cuisine! I'd go nuts. Like in New Orleans, I just had to have the Beneits (sp), bread pudding (yes bread, goes down easy in that yummy sauce!), and alligator bites!! I'm glad I don't like much of the African cuisine. Then i'll weigh on Friday! Also, even if you do gain a lb or two while you're gone, remember it's under unusual circumstances and not due to normal day-to-day activity. So promise you won't beat yourself up about it! Just walk an extra 15 - 20 minutes every day til you're back on track! And you may be surprised and find areas where you can exercise or walk over there! Do you have one of the blowup exercise balls or Water filled weights that you can take empty and use in your hotel room or where ever youre staying? Just a thought, it might help! I'm actually taking my ball with me (not sure if i'll ever use it, but would rather have an not use, than to want/need and not have!) Have a fantastic time! And post pictures! Congrats on breaking the plateau!! I know you're happy! But it seems like you throw up often. Is it possible your band is still too tight?
TklMeSkinny 0 Posted April 2, 2009 G'Morning all! I saw the Dr. yesterday (instead of next Monday as scheduled), and I think i've found my 2nd sweet spot now! LOL I had been at a good spot, then, as i lost weight i was able to eat more because the band got looser because of losing fat around the band, so, it's a big circle! Find the spot, lose the spot, find a new spot, lose the new spot, find a newer spot! LOL I had read about this, but now i'm experiencing it first hand!
