CathyRN91 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Hi all. Just to introduce myself. I'm 47, married 27 yrs and have always been overweight. I have lost 70 lbs in the past through LA weightloss. But unfortunately didn't keep it off. :sad_smile:Quit smoking over 1 yr ago and boy did the weight come back, like overnight. I've been here before seeking information in my decision to get the lapband. I've decided this is the way for me to go as bypass is just too drastic for me. Now my problem.. I need to lose 13 lbs before insurance will consider the procedure. I am a nurse working 12 hr shifts, have severe plantar fasciitis & trouble with my knees. This all makes it very difficult to exercise. Not to mention going thru the change which has put my metabolism in the basement. I've been watching my diet but the scales are going no where. Most I've been able to get off is 10 lbs but then regain 3-7lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks from desperate one lol
Brandy~ 2 Posted November 7, 2008 Theres lots of ways but if you can stand the Liquid Protein diets that they do for preop patients I would do that. Alot of people drop alot of weight fast. Hello and welcome to LBT!
CathyRN91 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Thanks Brandy. I've tried liq. diets before maybe I wasn't getting enough Protein because I just couldn't make it through a full day and would end up eating solid food. Guess I must try it again.
Brandy~ 2 Posted November 7, 2008 A good one to keep you from cheating or reducing the urge to cheat in the evenings is... 2-3 Protein shakes during the day and then broiled chicken at night for dinner. That's another diet the docs use.
