weight/resistance training

Recommended Posts

How much weight training should we be doing? I'm shooting for 2 times a week (along with my cardio of course). Does that sound about right? Also, it's better with low weight, high reps for toning right? I don't want to get all muscular! Thanks everyone!

toning is a myth IMO. you either build muscle or you don't and higher weight with less reps i find to be better to build muscle. i would start of with 3 times a week then when you get your muscles to the size you want, cut back a bit.

My opinion. Minimally you should get all your muscles twice a week, three times max.

Three sets of 15 what ever you are doing...and you should be fatigued by the end of the third set. If it's too light then add more weight.

You need to bust your butt to really grow muscles like body builders, don't worry about over doing it.

There are all kinds of ways you can hit your muscles groups and ways to rest between sets. Google it.

Good luck.

Also, if you want to really to knock yourself out look up Crossfit. It's cardio and strength training at the same time. There's lots of jumping and crazy stuff, but it's a great time saver.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
