restriction: how much are you able to eat

Recommended Posts

How many oz of meat is everyone able to eat if you have restriction? I seem to be at 2-3oz of chicken or beef. Fish I am able to eat around 6oz. It is hard making sure I chew it up enough and eat really slow. Have has a few PB's cause I am eating to fast. I had my 3rd fill on the 30th and this is the first time I have had any restriction.

Also, any ideas on different interesting ways to make chicken so it has some moisture or gravy? It always seems to dry and I have issue's eating it when i marinade and bake it.

Making your chicken in a crock pot might help. You can make it with a can of FF cream of chicken Soup, BBQ Sauce, chicken broth or just a little Water.

I'm getting my 3rd fill on the 13th and I really think this one is the one thats gong to help. I have some restriction in the sense that if I eat something I shouldn't (ie. bread) I feel it but when I eat things I should eat (ie. chicken, salad, etc.) I don't get full any faster than I did before the band. I'm ready to get this thing working for me!

I can only eat about 200g of anything in one meal (I think about 4oz) usually, though foods I can no longer tolerate, like rice and chicken breast, can make me pb after just a couple of bites.

After my fill yesterday, I'm struggling to finish a banana, but I know it's early and I probably will lossen up a bit in the next few days.

I marinade my chicken with soy sauce and some honey, and that seems to be quite moist. Or chicken with american mustard and honey - yum! You can pan fry both of those too in a non stick pan with no oil. And if it starts getting dry, just add a bit of Water to the pan.

I had my second fill today. They took out all the other fill and put in fresh saline. It was a bit hard cause my port shifted due to my weight loss. But it was bearable.

They are pleased with my progress. I have very little restriction right now. She said one or two more fills will most likely get me to my sweet spot but they don't like to fill it too much.

I am on liquid and mushies for 2 days and will extend it to maybe 5. I want to jump start my weight loss before the holidays.

So far I am happy with the band and what it has done for me. I am off to Water aerobics in 20 minutes and look forward to it.

I have been eating chicken Thighs after the dietician told me that they are more moist than the breast. I have been cooking this up with fruit Chutney and Mild English Mustard in a non stick pan YUMMY!! Like Lellow if it starts to dry out I add a bit of water!

I am able to eat about 3-4 oz Protein and maybe a bit of veggies. I find that if I eat to fast, I get that stuck feeling. I have only had 1 fill and I think that my be the right spot for me for a while. I have lost 45lbs so far, so that works for me!

I also use chicken thighs as they are more most. I will pound them down a bit and use a chutney with them.

well after a week i am back to being able to eat 6-8oz of meat. I do still have a little restriction because I am not eating 2 cups of veggie along with the 6oz of meat. I am down to 6oz of meat and a cheese stick.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
