Holiday ornament exchange anyone?

Recommended Posts

I'm a member of another online community (bookcrossing.com) and we have an annual ornament exchange each year. I've participated for 2 years now and have had a great time doing it. We send our contact info to a coordinator and they randomly assign you to another user. You can choose to take on an international user or not, depending on your preference. There aren't any other rules about what type of ornament or anything else you want to send.

Since my group is a book-related group, I have generally sent a book that was on the user's wishlist, an ornament and an edible that represents either who I am or where I am from. Because I chose to trade internationally, last year I sent to a user in Ireland and got one from a user in Finland. The year before I sent to a user in Australia and got one from a user in Ohio. Neat!

If anyone is interested in doing a BandLand version, just PM me your:

a)Snail Mail Address, and

b)Whether you only want to send to people in your own country.

Remember that ornaments need not be related to a specific holiday, as the exchange is intended to be all-inclusive and irrespective of faith.

We have several folks on the list for this exchange. I'll close off the list soon and ask folks to ship Internationals by December 1st, and domestic by December 7th. For those of you in Australia, Canada, England, etc. If you chose to ship only locally, you will be matched with someone in your country and should consider your shipment "domestic".

Please understand that you only need to send an ornament. The rest of the things that I sent were just fluff!

If you are still interested, please send me your info via PM!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
