kygurl 1 Posted July 27, 2009 I want to say congrats on having the lapband. I hope that you are feeling well and have a great success. I had my lapband on May 14th and I have lost a total of 28 pounds so far. I can eat Peanut Butter on crackers with no problem. I was told that some people do have trouble with certain foods but all are different. I do not have trouble with any food if I take small enough bites and do not try to swallow to much at once. I had my first fill last week and it is a little harder to swallow but if I take it slow and easy I do ok.
heartfire 4 Posted July 29, 2009 OH MY GOSH! These sound SO GOOD! Can't wait to try them! i am 1 week into lapband, at one of our meetings we were told that Peanut Butter was a no no no! i would like how you did after eating Peanut Butter and did onyone tell you not to eat it. Did anyone say WHY no peanut butter?! My surgeon recommends it as it's a good Protein load and easy to eat most times. It's part of his soft foods list after surgery. It's always a go-to for me if I'm having trouble with "harder" foods. Or just don't really want to eat but need something to tide me over. I also add it to my hot Cereal for more Protein and to help with the holding over longer. I've not heard of peanut butter as a no-no. Maybe it's a calories/fat thing?
