you ain't going to miss me, Margaret, I know that

but I'll miss you

(more evil laughter)

and when I get out, Margaret

I'm going to come over there with an egg beater

and a live chicken, and some peach preserves!

we'll have a good old time, Margaret!

I get Young Frankenstein but not the Ray Stevens flashback, is it cause I'm a Yankee?

Well, there's lots of stuff going against ya cuz you're a yankee, but you're pretty cool (get it?), so you get a pass.

Then again, who am I to talk? Born in Michigan, lived most of my life in Texas, and now in Virginny...

I don't believe that I beat anyone over the head with the bible. I state what God has to say on the issues.

No, you beat people over the head with your interpretation of what you think God says.

Nancy, what you say is spot on. People don't come to lbt to be preached at, and that is what appears to be happening in this thread. If they want to hear a sermon, they will go to church.

My feeling is that if your only argument is "because God said so" then you don't have much of an argument.

It's not my comparison, it's theirs. I hope that makes sense.

It's still asinine and therefore not worth repeating.

the fact is that marriage is not a Constitutionally protected right. It just isn't. If it was, there wouldn't be ANY restrictions on it whatsoever, and we all know there are. I don't say this to piss you off, it's just the facts.

The Supreme Court of CA disagrees with you. They say marriage is a fundamental right and that's why they struck down the original initiative.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
