At 2.75cc and I was too tight now 2.7 and feel I could use a lil more. What gives?

Recommended Posts

I don't get it I could not even drink drinkable yogurt with a 2.75cc in my 4cc band so I asked for a slight unfill and got 2.7 now I feel if I eat slowly and chew good I can still very easily finish a McDonalds cheeseburger and maybe just a little bit more. I asked the fill nurse if she could put a little more in but she said if she did it would just get me back to where i was before when I couldn't hold food or drinkable yogurt down. So now I am wondering what should I do? Should I try for something like 2.72cc? The nurse said that she didn't think it would make a difference but the difference was huge with 2.75 and 2.7 so maybe my sweet spot in right somewhere in between? I just got this new fill today and I think I can still eat a good portion more than I think necessary. So what do you guys think? I am starting to feel like I may never find my sweetspot. :D

that's exactly what i'm worried about. i had a slight unfill of .5ccs in september and have to wait until next week for another fill. does the band get used to the current fill and if i get .5 this next time i'll be fine or will i have to struggle finding my sweet spot someplace in that .5cc.

Minute amounts can make a difference, I went from being really tight at 2.9 to so wide open I can eat an entire sandwich on THICK bread at 2.7. Its amazing. I'm going back to 2.8 next week, lol.

Sometimes you just tighten up, which is what happened to me, 2.9 had been fine for me for absolutely ages. You wont necessarily be too tight again at the same fill level.

I'd recommend working with the band at the looser level. Yes, you do get more hungry but if you are careful to fill up on good solid healthy foods, it still controls the hunger enough that you can make good choices. Going too tight means falling back onto liquids and soft foods that don't satisfy, don't stick in the pouch and leave you feeling hungry again quickly, so you start to snack all the time - it's a vicious circle. With the looser band, if you make sure that you plan and eat your meals on time and make sure that they are things like lean meats and vegetables with fibre, you will feel less hungry overall, will get in good nutrition and should easily be able to keep under 1200 cal a day. Combine that with some exercise and most people will lose steadily.

It's when you have the band loose but don't pay attention to eating the right foods at the right times, that you find yourself starving hungry in the afternoons and evenings and fall back onto our bad old habits of eating junk food and crap. The band takes work and discipline - it just makes it a LOT easier to stick to the discipline because, even when a little loose, it controls the hunger. For example, you could eat a burger now, but can you eat what some of us used to, as in 2 burgers, upsized fries and large coke, with an icecream for dessert? Hopefully that kind of gorging is still out of the question, so just concentrate on good choices for what you can eat.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
