stevegoad 32 Posted November 8, 2008 I made a trip to Chicago 8 days after the band - no problems at all, even though I thought I would die trying to find food on the trip (a one day trip). Wound up having Soup at Harry Carey's restaurant, and then a smoothie at the airport. But flying was no problem at all.
lonestar5212 0 Posted November 8, 2008 What's up with us all taking a trip to Disney after surgery?? Anyway, I flew to Disney about 5 weeks after surgery, no problem at all. I have flown many times since then and feel no effects whatsoever. Happy flying and tell Mickey hello.
health4life 0 Posted November 9, 2008 This is great to know. I'm flying to Paris next week and that's a long flight. I certainly do not want lb complications due to flying.
intlpopstar 0 Posted November 12, 2008 I've flown since I was banded in July twice and haven't had any issues!
kdlee 0 Posted November 12, 2008 I flew to Arizona last month (4 hour flight). I had already had 2 fills at that point. I did fine without any problems. I did not eat while flying, but did OK drinking Water during the flight. Have fun at Disney!
KayleighsMommy 16 Posted November 12, 2008 I just got back from a trip home to MI. I was miserable the whole time. I was soooo tight. I am pretty sure it came from flying, as well as being in a lower atmosphere (Denver vs Detroit) I was throwing up every day. I ended up on liquids the last 6 days. As soon as we got back here to Denver, I started feeling much better. It looks like I may be in the minority in this respect (which is a good thing)
bas 0 Posted November 12, 2008 Well, I guess it affected me differently. When I flew last month, the cabin pressure affected my band, making it tighter. I was lucky enough to fly 1st class, tried eating a few bites of the scrambled eggs served, and it didn't go down. Wound up in the bathroom. Also, after I got to my destination, could hardly eat anything solid the next day at the wedding reception (or any time during the day really .....) because I was so tight. But I'm not sure if that was from my episode in the airplane bathroom or the affect on my band from the plane ride. The tightness subsided the 2nd day after I got home. P.S. I'm not scared of flying! (smile) Have fun at Disney!
