Steph1977 0 Posted November 2, 2008 I am now 10 weeks pregnant and I have been having alot of pain at my port site. It seems to be mostly after eating. It is just really sore. Even when I haven't eaten in a while, I will get sharp pains from bending over or simple activity. I am concerned that something is wrong with my port? Could it be that things are just moving around in there and it is rubbing on a rib? Has anyone had this kind of pain with pregnancy? I would think if it was because I am too tight, that it would hurt someplace other than my port. Not sure. Please help.
Daisalana 33 Posted November 3, 2008 Make an appt. with your band doc and tell them what you're experiencing..
losingjusme 12 Posted November 3, 2008 i agree with fairy... see what your band surgeon says... i am almost 26 weeks (wow, where did time go??) and i dont have port pain, just kind of sore... good luck.
HeatherO 7 Posted November 5, 2008 I would also suggest checking with your surgeon. 10 weeks is still pretty early and the baby shouldn't be pressing against your port at this stage. Where is your port located?
Steph1977 0 Posted November 8, 2008 My port is on my left side about an inch or so below my rib. When I eat it feels like the turkey timer trying to pop up. Like the turkey is done or something. Well that's how I feel at least.
HeatherO 7 Posted November 10, 2008 It is really odd, I just responded to this thread last week with no experience with port pain. Would you believe I started having port pain over the weekend??? It is just tender, like as if I overdid the exercise just around the port. Funny thing is, I have been so exhausted lately that my routine of several days a week at the gym has changed. Now the act of "not taking a nap" is about as much exercise as I have been getting, lol. Please let us know what your doctor says or if the port pain dissapears. nymoosic 0 Posted December 30, 2008 I'm trying to get pregnant and am curious... Did you have port pain right after surgery? It was almost 6 weeks before I could lie down without pain, so I'm curious if this will bother me down the road.
ajgambrell 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Have you done and found anything out about your pain? I am 8 months pregnant and i feel like i am dying, literally! This port feels like it is about to pop off. I have never had pain there but it has always stuck out but now it is really sticking out just curious to know what you have found out.
losingjusme 12 Posted January 1, 2009 i'm due in February and my son is pushing on my port something fierce!! its not really pain until i try laying on my side/tummy where the port is, then oh god... good luck!
Daisalana 33 Posted January 2, 2009 I'm lucky I guess that my port flipped and they moved it from my belly to my chest. I do notice some insignificant pain where the incision (I guess where the port use to be, the scarring inside). It's very minor in the scheme of things, but I would think some port pain when the baby pushes on it is normal.
