Hi! I'm 3 wks out and starving. I'm so discouraged by the amount I can eat--almost as much as pre surg! I have my first:confused: fill on Nov 10th. I sure hope it helps! Good luck with yours...I know how you feel.

Hang in there-- it is Bandster Hell. Just try to stick with the right choices, portions, eating slow etc to train yourself. Everyone is different with how much it takes but my first fill definitely helped alot. Now that I got my 2nd it is even better.

Also- for me- drinking warm tea with lemon really helped me control my hunger between meals. And eating really slow....

I seem to be in the minority but every fill worked for me. At each stage it gave me enough restriction to keep losing. It would slightly decrease what I was eating and slightly decrease my appetite enough to keep on losing (albeit slowly). I just dont understand why you need max restriction right off the bat, when you can lose on much less restriction early on.... but I guess everyone is different.

I guess early in the journey, I probably lost well on like 1800 calories a day, later on it needed to be 1400 so I needed more restriction, but there was no need to drop to 1400 right away when I could lose on more.

So yeah, every fill was fine for me, I had another when it waned and I stopped losing but every spot was a sweet spot.

I am in your same boat, don't worry, you're not alone. I find I'm hungry the minute I have something to drink. Just had my first fill today, 4cc in 14cc band. Hope that will help, but I'm drinking a glass of crystal light and hungry right now!! Good luck

I'm never really hungry, just want to eat. Have trouble remembering to eat/chew slowly. Had only 1cc first fill, at my request. Scared of being sick, burping, etc.. Next fill not for 4 more weeks. Any advice for slowing down with eating?

My first fill is tomorrow. I'm really hoping things improve.

I lost a lot the first couple of weeks, but then I started feeling better and started eating like it and the weight loss has slowed way way down.

I have real hopes of a fill helping the fight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
