Gees....is mine too lofty a goal? I'm serious in asking this question. I just don't know, now. I guess we'll see how I do as I go and possible revise it to 20? Hmmmm. Let me see how I do through November and I'll see if I need to change my goal.

Steph, that's 15 pounds a month! I would have to starve to do that! Even in my younger, faster metabolism days, I couldn't do more than 10 a month. You could leave it and just see how close you get. Who knows? Maybe with a superwoman effort, you could do it!!

Wow, that is a big goal, but if you aim high and miss you might still do better than aiming lower.

No matter what I do I still hover between 172 and 175 (one day I went down to 171) so I ended up getting nowhere on the last challenge. I walked over 80 miles last month and still I'm just maintaining ( which I am happy about).

But to stay focused I will weigh tomorrow and join the challenge with a small goal, as I really want to see the 160's ( even if it's 169!)

Well...like I say, I guess I'll wait to see how I do through November. Hmm. I've lost that fast before, but have no idea how it's going to be since I'm closer to my goal.

Here I go with my piddly goal of five pounds but if I can get down at all I'll be happy.

With Thanksgiving in the middle of this challenge (we are going to Vegas to visit our daughter for t'sgiving), christmas at the end of it and no band, this will be one tough challenge for me.

Okay, Guys, I'm shooting the moon, here. 150 will land me at my goal weight. Whether or not I make it, any loss will be a move in the right direction. Good luck, everyone!

I updated my weight and it didn't take, I guess. I'm not weighing myself again until Monday, so have no idea what my weight is right now.

It took me a while to determine my goal for this challenge. I know that I'm losing a whole lot slower than I did before. I looked at the BMI charts. Currently, I'm "overweight", which beats the heck out of "morbidly obese" LOL I'm aiming for "marginally overweight" now. :rolleyes2: In all honesty, I'm thrilled to death about where I'm at right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
