My last fat Halloween!

:rolleyes2: So I went out last night and had a rip-roaring good time, I just love Halloween and dressing up! I was a pirate, which I've been for the past few years (what can I say - it's a fun costume and it fits). And when I was out laughing and dancing and having fun I stopped for a moment and thought - "Whoa!!! This will be my last fat Halloween!!" Of course I shared with my friends and we all celebrated. Next year at this time I will have been banded for about six months and will be rockin along in my new healthy body.

Ahhhhhh, I can't wait! No more having to go to a special store or website just to find a costume that fits me. No more figuring out how I can cover my problem spots while still enhancing the good spots. And honestly - I can't wait for all the positive attention! Oh and all of the different costumes that are possible!

Anyway - just had to share. Your Halloween stories and experiences are welcome here!

I had those exact same feelings last Halloween. I dressed as Mimi from Drew Carey and my brother dressed as Drew. We looked pretty amazing, but I vowed to be something pretty in 08 because I was sick of having to figure out a "fat" costume.

This year I was Marie Antionette. It was so fun and after we all changed into our regular clothes, I even danced (something I would never have done when I was heavy). What a blast. Next year, I'm thinking of dressing as a flapper!

Glad you had a great Halloween and I'm excited for you for next Halloween!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
