Hi, I was banded 10/31 and I feel the same way. I am also having pain with belching. It feels like I have a burp under my band and when it tries to come up, I have bad pain and feels like muscle spasm. Are you experiencing this too?

Hello All, Congrats on being banded mine was on Oct 17th and I'm still sore seem to be a little swolen in the area of the port. So hunger was horrible for me for 5 days finally went to Dr. and said help!! he eat eat whatever you can just eat slow chew to baby food consistancy. But at first your band is not tight so you will be hungry I have not had a fill yet and can eat alomst anything in small amounts I still get full very fast which is nice. So he said this is supposed to be a joyable experience not misserable. And if we go hungry will not succeed in our endeavors. So eat becareful stay with soft for now and take it one day at a time be sure not to over eat!!! Good Luck

Before you eat, make sure to check with your doctor. They all have a different protocol that they follow. I was on liquids for two weeks and then went to mushies for two weeks. This progression of diet helped everything to heal and prevent band slippage. Drink slowly to get past the feeling of hunger. Best of luck as you begin your new journey to a more healthy you! :smile2::thumbup:

Yes this is normal. My advise is get a heating pad and some Gas X extra strength I was not prepared this lasts for a few days but with the heating pad it is much easier. Hope you are feeling better soon. my private email is sharmons@sisqtel.net I was banded on 9-26-08 I have lost 20 lbs and have a few weeks of experience. I am now finally stablized. I recommend the chat room It helps to chat with people that are going through what you are or others that have already beend there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
