BeautyLocs 0 Posted November 2, 2008 Hi PattiKay-- My surgery hasn't been scheduled yet, so I can't answer your questions about pain and food, but I did want to say hello. I, too, am in Michigan and would like to know where you're having your surgery and who your surgeon is. I'd also be interested to know who's your insurance carrier and whether or not the approval process was long or difficult? Good luck to you, PattiKay! I hope that this surgery results in you feeling younger and healthier than you ever have. I'll look forward to hearing more about your journey. Take care, Beautylocs
Teachlady 3 Posted November 2, 2008 Hi Pattikay... I had my surgery in Port Huron April, 2007 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had no discomfort afterwards except for some slight pulling at the port site. I had no issue with gas pains at all. I walked and walked and walked after surgery and that's the key. You have to get up and get moving. I can eat most anything now, just very small portions and I have to be careful to chew, chew, chew and eat slowly. You will learn what foods you can and cannot eat. Pasta is a slow go for me so I avoid it and bread. Any dry meat will not go down easily. You just have to be careful. I live in Alpena and travel 4 hours for a fill because I have the utmost confidence in my doctor and the Port Huron Hospital. PM me if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to answer them if I can.
