Optifast Chicken Soup

Recommended Posts

I was told that in our area we cannot have access to the Optifast chicken Soup. I found some on Ebay from Australia and ordered it. My husband is concerned about why I wasn't able to get hold of any in our area. Does anyone know of any reason to doubt the safety of getting this product from Australia?

Here in Ontario Canada, Optifast is only available by prescription. A friend of mine ordered it from Ebay from somewhere in the US, and it was stopped at the border, it was not allowed to enter Canada and she lost her money.

I dont think it has anything to do with safety of the product, just different regulations in different countries.

It will be interesting to see if the Soup actually gets to you.

I was told on Thursday that they are no longer making the chicken Soup, only Tomato, because the chicken (and the Peanut Butter bars and oat bars) were made in China so they closed those operations when all of the tainted milk, etc. started popping up. I guess they are trying to get those flavors going in a different location but not soon enough to help us.

BTW, Nestle now owns Novartis.

Im from Australia and if you ordered it from here I wouldn't doubt the safety what so ever.

I would be more concerned about ordering it from China.

You can get Optifast from pretty much anywhere here.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
