jillrenee15 0 Posted October 31, 2008 Does anyone know if when you put money into an HSA, can you use it for your adjustments? I know the uses have to jive with what the government says you can use it for. Is this an approved expense? I would ask my insurance company, but if the procedure doesn't have a code I don't know if they will even know.
Kat225 2 Posted October 31, 2008 This is a interesting question. I didn't know there were certain restrictions on what you could use it for. I assumed that I could use it for anything medically related. I've been using mine over the past few months for my fills. I hope its allowed. Let me know what you find out.... Losing 2 0 Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks for asking this question; I do not have an answer, however we are coming up on our open season - I am hoping that with the many questions I need answers to, I can remember to ask this one! This would be of great assistance to me. If I get an answer within the next couple of weeks - I'll post it. Take care
MacMadame 81 Posted October 31, 2008 If your doctor codes your fills as an office visit, your insurance should pay for it. That's what one surgeon I looked into did. I recently found out there are different types of HSA with different rules. Health Spending Accounts I have a FSA and fills would be covered because it's a doctor's visit. But Health Savings Accounts have different rules that I'm not familiar with so I don't know if they would count: U.S. Treasury - Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
jillrenee15 0 Posted November 4, 2008 I did mean an FSA not an HSA. They have to cover what the federal government tells them to. Does anyone know if this is a covered expense?
MacMadame 81 Posted November 5, 2008 The surgery? Yes. I used my FSA for mine.
