Does anyone else dream about food, or am I just plain nuts? I have not been banded yet, but I am on a six month supervised diet which has me on a 1200 calorie diet (and I have been strictly adhering too).

Just today I had a dream that I was gorging down cheesecake lol. It was crazy and so vivid that I woke up thinking I had sabotaged my entire diet! I wish I could say this was the first time I've had these sorts of dreams, but it's not. Since starting my diet, I've been having at least 3 a week. I guess I shouldnt be all that surprised though. When I quit smoking I dreamt of cigarettes too and woke up thinking I had smoked lol.

Anyway, I hope I'm not the only one here that does this sort of crap.

I haven't with the band, but I have in the past on "diets"...and I dreamed about smoking when I was quitting back in 1995. I think it's just our psyche's way of handling the change, grieving and moving on!

I start my liquid diet next week, so this week I am on the 2 shakes and 1 real meal a day, and girl...I am dreaming of buffets, pizza, donuts...it's a NIGHTMARE, because I can TASTE the food in my dream...it's super weird...I asked some co-workers the other day if they have ever dreamt about food and they said no...I said...um...me neither.

Nope, sorry, but you're just nuts, lol.

Oh, yes, I *do* dream about food sometimes. I have a recurring one, I always have it when I go to bed a little drunk. Anything past that 3 glasses of wine, when you got to bed holding on to the bedside table because the bed keeps spinning and tipping, ergh, I must be really dehydrated because I *ALWAYS* dream of gorging myself on watery iceberg lettuce.

Weird, I know.

I don't think I had ever dreamed about food until the night after my first day of pre-op!! I had a bbq sandwich in my dream and I woke up thinking I had a bbq sandwich and ruined my pre-op diet! hahaha! Haven't had one since but I'm sure there will be more to come!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
