That when I went home I'd have to use suppositories on myself  C'mon, I had enough trouble doing stuff "there" before, now you want me to do this with pain????

are we talking about suppositries for the obvious reasons or are we talking for medication purposes....

if for the obvious....as long as your taking in some fibre of some sort and lots of Water then you should be ok...lots of bandits have a few going to the loo problems....and find many ways around this before suppositries....

if they are medication then take oral meds.....yes many analgaesics come in suppositry form...rofl

I havent known any bandits to have the need to use them:crying:

Nope, these were given to me to help stop inflammation in the wound sites. I'd never heard of them either, but there you go.

and good luck hun:thumbup:

Constipation is very normal for banded people. It's hard to get in all the Fiber we need when we eat Protein first and there is little room for fruits and veggies. Is that what you're talking about?

You really would of backed out because of suppositories Emma?????

They are really no big deal.

Sunwyse, I had to take them also & I know it's a bit yuck, but they work wonders for your recovery & they work quickly.

They reduce ANY swelling.

You would only have to take them for a few weeks or even days.

Not many people bring up that they had to take them as it can be a bit embarassing. I've spoken to quite a few people who have had to take them also.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
