Two Weeks Post-Op..................

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I was banded October 16th and yesterday I started feeling some discomfort in the port area, like the stiches were being stretched or something.

I was just wondering if I could of hurt or stretched 8_1_225.gif myself by getting on the treadmill. I have been walking and even tried jogging for about 30 minutes a night.

Anyone else experience anything like this?:w00t:

Also - Other October Bandsters........how are you doing in your progress?

I quickly lost 11 pounds:thumbup: and now since being on "mushies" I have gained a little back, :sad_smile:Is this pretty normal?

Thanks! Jeni

I had a kind of pulling sensation in my port area around the second week or so. It was sore...kind of like pulling a muscle or something...it was sore, but it did go away... I hope this helps

I was banded on oct 16th too and felt the exact same way in my oirt area. Doctor put it in a spot where my waistband is and I felt very irritated in that spot-went to doctor yesterday for 2 week followup and he said it is normal.. I can resume exercise, like walking, weights as long as they are not over 10 lbs. Today I can start having one meal of Protein. I'm so excited to be ating real food now. I lost 12 lbs so far. Good luck to you.

I wil be one week out Friday. Today is the 1st morning I ahve not not felt the pulling sensation on left side. That is where the pain has been. Will there be a time soon where I will feel normal again, but just making smarter choices about my food? Kathy

I am three months out and at about two weeks, my port was very sore. I felt like I had to hold my hand over it. I went to the doc and he prescribed a medical binder. It is an elastic thing with velco that you were kind of like a girdle. It worked great! I only had to wear it about a week but I was glad I had it. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
