To Barack Hussein Obama,

The New York Times carried a story on Saturday, October 4, 2008, that proved You had a significantly closer relationship with Bill Ayers than what you Previously admitted. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the Greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

The Chicago Sun reported on May 8, 2008, that FBI records showed that you had a significantly closer relationship with Tony Rezko than what you previously

admitted. In the interview, you said that you only saw Mr. Rezko a couple of times a year. The FBI files showed that you saw him weekly. While the issue of

your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

Your speech in Philadelphia on March 18, 2008, about 'race' contradicted your statement to Anderson Cooper on March 14 when you said that you never Heard Reverend Wright make his negative statements about white America. While your attendance at Trinity Church for 20 years is of concern, the Greater concern is that you lied to America on March 14.

In your 1st debate with John McCain, you said that you never said that you would meet with the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea without 'preparations' at lower levels ... Joe Biden repeated your words in his debate with Sarah Palin ... While the video tape from your debate last February clearly shows that you answered 'I would' to the question of meeting with those leaders within 12 months without 'any' preconditions. While your judgement about meeting with enemies of the USA without Pre-conditions is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America in the debate with McCain.

On July 14, 2008, you said that you always knew that the surge would work while the video tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you stated that the surge would not work. While your judgement about military strategy as a potential commander-in-chief is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America on July 14.

You now claim that your reason for voting against funding for the troops was because the bill did not include a time line for withdrawal, while the video tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you voted against additional funding because you wanted our troops to be removed immediately... Not in 16 months after the 2008 election as you now claim. While your judgement about removing our troops unilaterally in 2007 is of concern, the Greater concern is that you lied to America about your previous position.

You claim to have a record of working with Republicans while the record Shows that the only bill that you sponsored with a Republican was with Chuck Lugar ... And it failed. The record shows that you vote 97% in concert with the Democrat party and that you have the most liberal voting record in the Senate. You joined Republicans only 13% of the time in your votes and those 13% were only after agreement from the Democrat party. While it is of concern that you fail to include conservatives in your actions and that you are such a liberal, the greater concern is that you distorted the truth.

In the primary debates of last February, 2008, you claimed to have talked with a 'Captain' of a platoon in Afghanistan 'the other day' when in fact you had a discussion in 2003 with a Lieutenant who had just been deployed to Afghanista n . You lied in that debate.

In your debates last spring, you claimed to have been a 'professor of Constitutional law' when in fact you have never been a professor of Constitutional law. In this last debate, you were careful to say that you 'taught a law class' and never mentioned being a 'professor of Constitutional law.' You lied last spring.

You and Joe Biden both claimed that John McCain voted against additional funding for our troops when the actual records show the opposite. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted against funding for alternate energy sources 20 times when the record shows that John McCain specifically voted against funding for bio fuels, especially corn ... and he was right .... corn is too expensive at producing ethanol, and using corn to make ethanol increased the price of corn from $2 a bushel to $6 a bushel for food. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted like both of you for a tax increase on those making as little as $42,000 per year while the voting record clearly shows that John McCain did not vote as you and Joe Biden. You lied to America .

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time when you know that Democrats also vote 90% of the time with the President (including Joe Biden) because the vast majority of the votes are procedural. You are one of the few who has not voted 90% of the time with the president because you have been missing from the Senate since the day you got elected. While your absence from your job in the Senate is of concern, the greater concern is that you spin the facts.

You did not take an active role in the rescue plan. You claimed that the Senate did not need you while the real reason that you abstained was because of your close relationships with the executives of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Countrywide, and Acorn ... who all helped cause the f inancial problems of today ... and they all made major contributions to your campaign. While your relationship with these executives and your protection of them for your brief 3 years in the Senate (along with Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters, and Chris Dodd) is of concern, the greater concern is that you are being deceitful.

You forgot to mention that you personally represented Tony Rezko and Acorn. Tony Rezko, an Arab and close friend to you, was convicted of fraud in Chicago real estate transactions that bilked millions of tax dollars from the Illinois government for renovation projects that you sponsored as a state senator ... and Acorn has been convicted of voter fraud, real estate sub prime loan intimidation, and illegal campaign contributions. Tony Rezko has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to your political campaigns. You personally used your political positions to steer money to both Tony Rezko and Acorn and you used Acorn to register thousands of phony voters for Democrats and you. While your relationships with Rezko and Acorn are of concern, the greater concern is that you omitted important facts about your relationships with them to America .

During your campaign, you said: 'typical white person.' 'They cling to their guns and religion.' 'They will say that I am black.' You played the race Card. You tried to label any criticism about you as racist. You divide America .

You claim that you will reduce taxes for 95% of America , but you forgot to tell America that those reductions are after you remove the Bush tax Reductions. You have requested close to $1 billion in earmarks and several million for Acorn. Your social programs will cost America $1 trillion per year and you claim that a reduction in military spending ($100 billion for Iraq ) can pay for it. While your economic plan of adding 30% to the size of our federal government is of concern, the greater concern is that you are deceiving America .

The drain to America 's economy by foreign supplied oil is $700 billion per year (5% of GDP) while the war in Iraq is $100 billion (less than 1% of GDP). You voted against any increases to oil exploration for the last 3 years and any expansion of nuclear facilities. Yet today, you say that you have always been for more oil and more nuclear. You are lying to America .

Mr. Obama, you claimed that you 'changed' your mind about public financing for your campaign because of the money spent by Republican PACs in 2004. The truth is that the Democrat PACs in 2004, 2006, and 2008 spent twice as much as the Republican PACs (especially George Soros and MoveOn.org). You are lying to America .

Mr. Obama, you have done nothing to stop the actions of the teachers union and college professors in the USA . They eliminated religion from our history. They teach pro gay agendas and discuss sex with students as young as first grade. They bring their personal politics into the classrooms. They disparage conservatives. They brainwash our children. They are in it for themselves ..... not America . Are you reluctant to condemn their actions because teachers/professors and the NEA contribute 25% of all money donated to Democrats and none to Republicans? You are deceiving America .

Oh, Mr. Obama, Teddy Roosevelt said about a hundred years ago that we Americans should first look at the character of our leaders before anything else.

Your character looks horrible. While you make good speeches, motivating speeches, your character does not match your rhetoric. You talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.

1. You lied to America . You lied many times. You distorted facts. You parsed your answers like a lawyer.

2. You distorted the record of John McCain in your words and in your advertisements.

3. You had associations with some very bad people for your personal political gains and then lied about those associations.

4. You divide America about race and about class.

Now let me compare your record of lies, distortions, race baiting, and associations to John McCain: War hero. Annapolis graduate with 'Country first.' Operational leadership experience like all 43 previously elected presidents of the USA as a Navy officer for 22 years. 26 years in the Senate. Straight talk. Maverick. 54% of the time participated on bills with Democrats. Never asked for an earmark. The only blemish on his record is his part in the Keating 5 debacle about 25 years ago.

Mr. Obama, at Harvard Law School, you learned that the end does not justify the means. You learned that perjury, false witness, dishonesty, distortion of truth are never tolerated. Yet, your dishonesty is overwhelming. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty that caused the impeachment and disbarment of Bill Clinton. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty of Scooter Libby. You should be ashamed.

Mr. Obama, it is time for us Americans to put aside our differences on political issues and vote against you because of your dishonest character. It is time for all of us Americans to put aside our political issues and vote for America first. It is time for America to vote for honesty.

Any people who vote for you after understanding that you are dishonest should be ashamed of themselves for making their personal political issues more important than character. Would these same people vote for the anti-Christ if the anti-Christ promised them riches? Would they make a golden calf while Moses was up the mountain? Would they hire someone for a job if that someone lied in an interview? Of course not. So why do some of these people justify their votes for you even though they know you are dishonest? Why do they excuse your dishonesty? Because some of these people are frightened about the future, the economy, and their financial security .... and you are preying on their fears with empty promises ... and because some (especially our young people) are consumed by your wonderful style and promises for 'change' like the Germans who voted for Adolf Hitler in 1932. The greed/envy by Germans in 1932 kept them from recognizing Hitler for who he was. They loved his style. Greed and envy are keeping many Americans from recognizing you ... your style has camouflaged your dishonesty .... but many of us see you for who you really are ... and we will not stop exposing who you are every day, forever if it is necessary.

Mr. Obama, you are dishonest. Anyone who votes for you is enabling dishonesty.

Mr. Obama , America cannot trust that you will put America first in your decisions about the future.

Mr. Obama, you are not the 'change' that America deserves. We cannot trust you.

Mr. Obama, You are not ready and not fit to be commander-in-chief.

Mr. Obama, John McCain does not have as much money as your campaign to refute all of your false statements. And for whatever reasons, the mainstream media will not give adequate coverage or research about your lies, distortions, word parsing, bad associations, race baiting, lack of operational leadership experience, and generally dishonest character. The media is diverting our attention from your relationships and ignoring the fact that you lied about those relationships. The fact that you lied is much more important than the relationships themselves .... just like with Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon ... Monica Lewinski and Watergate were not nearly as bad as the fact that those men lied about the events ... false witness ... perjury ... your relationships and bad judgements are bad on their own .... but your lies are even worse.

Therefore, by copy of this memo, all who read this memo are asked to send it to everyone else in America before it is too late. We need to do the job that the media will not do. We need to expose your dishonesty so that every person in America understands who you really are before election day.

Mr. Obama, in a democracy, we get what we deserve. And God help America if we deserve you.

Dear John McCain:

You sly dog. You wanted someone to lasso up the Hillary supporters and you nailed it! It takes but one glance at Sarah Palin to see why you would chose her. I mean, it’s like holding up a mirror to Hillary Clinton!

Except that she’s anti-abortion (even in cases of rape and incest!!!) and believes that creationism should be taught in public schools.

And that she thinks global warming is a “hoax.”

And then there’s the whole pro-NRA thing.

Not to mention the fact she’s married to a BP employee and is chomping at the bit to rape her home state for a cheap oil and natural gas fix.

And, well, there’s the pesky problem that a year and half ago her job was being the mayor of a town with a population of 8,500 when you, Mr. McCain, have been berating Barack Obama for lack of experience.

I’m also sorry to report, she’s currently being investigated for abuse of power in her own state. (Let’s face it Johno, how much power is there in Alaska? I mean, come on. If you’re abusing power there, you are working hard to be smarmy!)

But I gotta hand it to her, that is one sweet couch. The ginormous crab might be a bit over the top though.

30palin3.large.jpg

While it’s entertaining as hell to watch from afar as the Republican pundits try to spin this positively, it’s also SO GOD DAMNED EMBARRASSING. Mr. McCain, you were supposed to be different. You were supposed to be the “good Republican.” And now you’ve completely succumbed to pandering, insulting and frankly, dangerous tactics.

Let’s be frank. You are no spring chicken and unfortunately you’ve had your share of scary cancer moments. Conservatives always counter the age issue with the fact that Reagan was old as shit too, but it’s also common knowledge that he had Alzheimer’s while in office and that he “could not recall” vital moments of the Iran-Contra “affair.”

That said, is it safe to place the future in Palin’s hands? Once you start your inevitable war against Iran (the one that Iran insists will be the beginning of World War III and even your mentor George Bush recently realized was not worth it) will she be the person we need leading that charge? It’s absolutely terrifying.

A friend wondered aloud tonight if the Republicans are trying to throw you under the bus. If the choice of Palin was a way to spare the other potential VPs from an embarrassing loss and therefore saving them to run in 2012. I wouldn’t put it past the GOP, but honestly, can the U.S. survive another four years of incompetent leadership? No. The answer is an emphatic “NO!”

So Mr. McCain, I hope you know what you’re doing. I hope she is as smart as you claim. I hope to hell that you lose, and preferably lose BIG. But, I know my country. I know how selfish it has become. I know how short-sighted and petty. And I know there is a damn good chance you can still win this election.

I sincerely hope not.

This is a response to Why Are People Voting For Obama.........

I listened to a very popular radio station here in New Jersery and the DJ said Black people are only voting for Obama because he is black .......so I was thinking is it fair to say the White people that are not voting for him is becasue he's black? He didnot name himself and he can't help were he was born.

GOD BLESS YOU

Hey you asked the question!!!!!!! I can't wait for it all to be overrrrr!

PS - November 21 will be in here no time! I think I was scheduled a month out and thought it would take forever. It didn't!!! Now I'm just so sick of liquids, I could scream!

I did ask, didn't I? Ugh... lol And like you, I can't wait for it to be over either. I think I'm actually looking more forward to no more ads, no more fliers, no more phone calls more this moment than I'm looking forward to my surgery date. :smile2:

I got a call from the hospital today from pre-op. Of course they called my home (where I was not, *sigh*) so now I have to remember to call them Monday. Three weeks from today. It seems like three years. But like you, I bet FOUR weeks from today I will be so sick of liquids, I will scream too. :tt1: lol

that may be true for some. However, for me, I am not voting for him because he doesn't represent my beliefs. Then again, neither does McCain, but Obama doesn't represent them more. :smile2:

No ads....I cannot wait! Our senate race is close to they're every damn other ad. I keep the remote handy so I can hit mute quickly.

Pre-op at my hospital was good fun. It had to have taken 3-4 hours and why!?! Can't answer that question. Oh and the best part? I left my wallet at home - doh! So they wanted a copy of my DL and insurance card yet again. Luckily she could verify me through their computer system.

I was very lucky with my surgery b/c I had very little pain (just soreness) and zero gas/air. I was SO thankful. I have one more week of liquids. I may start chewing a shoe soon...

Wow, you are one of the better recovery stories I've heard. I know to expect the worst and hope for the best, and it'll probably be in the middle somewhere. Then again, ANYthing's gotta be better than the comical struggle that ensues just trying to put on my socks and tennis shoes... :tt1:

I'm guessing when the hospital is talking pre-op, it's just all the paperwork and other crap. I'm still waiting to hear the official go-ahead from the doc. They were supposed to get my psych eval on Monday, with a nod from the insurance company within a day after that. By Wednesday I hadn't heard anything, so I called. They had just gotten it and submitted it that morning.

At this point I don't know what other pre-op stuff I will need to do. I know I'm just being impatient as I consider my doctor's office as being very good on communication. At my initial consult, they gave me a printout of what would happen in the beginning stages, whether self-pay or insurance. They gave me scrips for the barium swallow and the doctor's visit where I need the letter of necessity and bloodwork. So you walk out with everything you need, which I thought was great.

I asked on Wednesday when I meet with the nutritionist, and the nurse said she is the nutritionist and we would do that pre-op. I'm guessing pre-op as in sometime before the surgery as opposed to the morning of. :smile2: I wish I understood what is gonna happen next a bit better, but I am doing my best not to be a pest. lol

You sure the psych will approve a Republican? Badabing! Corny, I know.

I hear ya regarding the tying the shoes! Oh, one thing...bending over to pick up something off the ground was definitely tenuous but not horrid. I was banded 10/16 and just realized this week that I picked up the paper off the driveway and didn't cringe. Woohoo!

My surgeon's office has been incredibly organized which has been great! Have you seen the threads by Alex about what to expect pre-op, you have a date, what to expect post-surgery, etc? They're really good. Oh and there was a "what to bring to the hospital" thread so if you haven't, you might want to check those out!

My pre-op was money (of which I owed $0!) and then meeting with a nurse about all of my existing health questions (yet again!) and then meeting with the anesthesiologist. I told him that anesthesia can sometimes make me sick so he gave me an anti-nausea patch that went behind my ear the night before and that I took off 3 days later.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Also, there are 2 October threads if you want to read through them.

John McCain told the Des Moines Register this week that he always tells "100 percent absolute truth," even in campaign ads. There's one big problem with that bold statement: it's just not true.

McCain has made a number of statements — in paid ads and on the campaign trail — that simply cannot be described as 100 percent accurate. Some aren't even close.

Barack Obama is guilty, too. He falsely accused McCain of wanting to slice Social Security benefits in half and grossly exaggerated his role in writing this year's economic stimulus plan. He also promised to accept public financing — and then proceeded to opt out when it was clear he could raise more money on his own.

But only McCain made this dare: Prove it, he told the Register. The paper did not — Politico will.

The false equivalency stuff is maddening -- Obama never promised to opt out of public financing. He promised to explore the possibility with the McCain campaign. Those talks fell apart as soon as it was clear that the GOP wasn't interested in reining in their 527s like Obama had done. And McCain wanted people to invest a portion of their social security benefits into the now tanked stock market. But whatever. This is still a story about what a liar McCain is, and they find 10 examples:

1. Claiming Palin didn't take or ask for federal earmarks as governor of Alaska. In her first year, she actually took $256 million worth.

2. Claiming Palin stopped the Bridge to Nowhere, when she didn't until the project would have to be paid for strictly from state funds.

3. Claiming Obama's health care plan would cost jobs, reduce wages, and would force people to abandon their existing coverage.

4. Claiming Obama wants to raise taxes on electricity and home heating oil.

5. Claiming Obama wants to raise taxes on individuals making as little as $42,000 per year.

6. Claiming he would never raise taxes, then admitting that his health care plan would raise taxes.

7. Claiming Rick Davis had left his lobbying firm, and had never received lobbying fees from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Turns out that Freddie Mac was paying Davis $15,000/month for doing nothing, and he still is a director in his firm.

8. Claiming he had never requested a federal earmark for Arizona, when he has.

9. Accusing Obama of voting to cut off funds for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

10. Accusing Obama of skipping a visit to a military hospital in German because he wasn't able to bring news crews along.

Here's why people are voting for Obama: Obama Supporters Wait Hours To See Candidate Speak - Videos - WTVJ. Go to about 45 seconds from the end, to hear a woman attending an Obama rally say,

"It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment."

Reporter: "Why?"

"Because I never thought this day would ever happen. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he's gonna help me."

LOL, yeah, looks like she approved me even though... lol And what's so funny is at least in a general sense, it sounds like you and I agree more than we disagree. I don't adhere completely to ALL the conservative stances -- but my primary issues are less government (and government intrusion), less taxes (and fiscal responsibility by our government), gun ownership, secure borders, and personal responsibility. Though I have my own view on abortion, I don't believe the government should get involved. That's about it. Pretty simple, no? :) That's why I say nobody represents me since the conservatives have pretty much abandoned their base.

I WILL check out those threads in here. It is a large site, so it can be hard to find exactly what I need -- or even know what it is I should be thinking about. I am already familiar with many things pre- and post-op (the doctor's office gave me a link to a website that goes through many of the details about the procedure), but hearing from others is always better in my book. They are the ones experiencing it, so they can shed a whole nuther light on the matter.

Thanks for directing me to those areas!

That would rock!! My short-term goal is for my gut not to stick out farther than my DD boobs....oh, and to have only 1 chin!!!

Ewwwww - on "Big Medicine" they just cut off 12 pounds of excess skin off of a man that lost 200 pounds. :)

That's MY short-term goal too!! 'Cept I don't have double D's -- single D's here (but they were once nice, perky C's :wink5:).

As for "Big Medicine" -- great way to lose 12 pounds instantaneously -- NOT! Hey, so long as when I get down to my ideal goal I don't have to lift my belly flap like a skirt to sit down, I'll be happy. :cursing:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
