Disney World at Thanksgiving

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My hubby just told me today that he wanted to go to Disney world for the week of Thanksgiving. I love Disney World. I have had my band for 4 weeks. I am supposed to have my first fill Nov. 5th.

If I go to Disney what would I eat? We would have to eat counter service for finances and I can't think of any healthy options. Anyone experience anything like this> All help and suggestions will be appreciated. i also posted on food and nutrition board.

It's disney world! I'd just do the best I could...I'd chew chew chew, not snack, not drink with meals, but enjoy myself. Even counter service at disney often offers healthier choices....you can do it. Have fun!

There are healthier choices most places you go, just eat small portions. Take Protein supplements with you in your purse, especially if you are going to do alot of walking and lots of Water. Stay hydrated and protein fed. I don't eat many meals a day normally but when I am out travelling I find I eat more frequently making sure I get my protein in and in small quantities which keeps my energy up. Ask your nutritionist for suggestions and write ahead to Disney World - they have reps that help with people with special needs who can offer suggestions.

The kids meals have applesauce and hamburgers.

When I was there this summer I was all about eating the bugers with out the Buns. There are decent choices. Bring oatmeal for Breakfast in the hotel and Snacks that work for yourself.

Don't fret, look at it as a learning experience. OMG, have so much fun!

I'm so jealous!! We went to Disney last Oct, 2 months after my surgery.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

You can bring food and even a small soft side cooler into the parks. I brought Water, crystal light packets, Protein Bars, nuts, fruit, oatmeal, etc.<o:p></o:p>

We stayed in a condo instead of a hotel so I had the benefit of a full kitchen to prepare Breakfast and a few dinners.<o:p></o:p>

Food was the last thing on my mind while in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street><st1:address>Happiest Place</st1:address></st1:Street> on Earth!!!!<o:p></o:p>

Have fun!<o:p></o:p>

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
