Unsure15 0 Posted October 27, 2008 Does anyone know if you can scuba dive when you have a lap band?! I'm really interested in getting banded, but LOVE to scuba dive (even if it's embarrassing to be squeezed into a wet suit)
jmegirl 2 Posted October 27, 2008 Yup, even scuba diving is allowed once you've recovered from surgery...typically about 4 weeks.
Brandy~ 2 Posted October 27, 2008 I don't thinks theres anything you can't do once you're healed.
ShrinkyDink 0 Posted October 27, 2008 Do you know a good source for plus size wetsuits?
Brandy~ 2 Posted October 27, 2008 Wouldn't it be hard to keep a suit that fits you? They are kinda spendy and losing weight so fast would be hard.
ShrinkyDink 0 Posted October 27, 2008 Yeah it wouldn't fit long, but I'm wanting to find one so I can use my pool for a few more weeks and so I can start using it a few weeks sooner in the spring. I figure it wouldn't last me beyond that but if it could get me that much more pool exercise it would be worth it.
Unsure15 0 Posted October 30, 2008 Hey Ladies. I just got a Mens XL long at my local scuba shop - it was tight, but there was up to XXL in size. I weighed around 265lbs
ShrinkyDink 0 Posted October 30, 2008 Hey Ladies.I just got a Mens XL long at my local scuba shop - it was tight, but there was up to XXL in size. I weighed around 265lbs I wondered about mens suits but I was afraid they'd be too big in the shoulders, have you had trouble with that? Maybe I'll swallow my pride and go to a dive shop and look, I can just imagine what they will think when they see my badonkadonk coming into the store! But then on the other hand, shopping online would probably not turn out so well since I'd have no idea what size to buy.
Unsure15 0 Posted October 31, 2008 Well you weight 243, and I weigh 265 so that extra 20 lbs (as you know) makes all the difference. I'll admit the suit wasn't the best fit, but the experience is TOTALLY worth it. I did it, looked like a fool i'm sure, but once in the Water it's amazing!!! Worth the time, effort, and embarrassment.
