I was banded on 10/20. And I forgot to ask the doctor when I would be able to have relations (yes sexual ) with my sweetie. We are both hot twitching with anticipation and I dont know how long she can stand being without me. Help@

Well, MY doc said as soon as I felt like I'd be ok, and as long as I wasn't doing any crazy trapeze style stuff, I could return to 'relations' as soon as I wanted. (But I'm a woman so I have been using my surgery to get me OUT of having to have relations. =)

There was a thread on this recently and it seems like men resumed "relations" as soon as they felt "up to it". I'm a woman and I was fine after 5 days...I wasn't going to wait longer that that. You'll be fine!

It upset me to read your reply. What do you mean, "I'm a woman so I have been using my surgery to get me OUT of having to have relations. Sex is such an integral part of a relationship. It s something to be enjoyed, not something that you avoid. Is it because your overweight that you feel this way? Sex is a great way to be intimate with your partner, to feel close, loved, and desired. I hope that one day you will feel differently and realize that sex is not a chore, but a way to receive great pleasure and intimacy with your partner. Also, you are doing a disservice to women when you perpetuate the notion that we pretend to be sick to avoid it. I love sex and never feel that way, as do many women. Good luck.

You too? Why are you women trying to avoid sex? Do you have a selfish partner? Is he mean to you? Does he put you down? Does it lovemaking skills leave something to be desired? Whats the problem? Please dont clump all women in this category of always avoiding sex. I, as well as all of my friends LOVE sex!! We never avoid it unless we are tired or not feeling well. Maybe once you lose some weight and gain some sel-esteem, you will feel differently. Good Luck.

OMG! LIPSTIX64..Lighten up. Who are you to assume why these ladies are putting off having "relations" with their partners. I don't think their weight has anything to do with it. To me being sexy is a state of mind. If you are confident with you and your body, regardless to what the scale says, then there it is. Sexy it is! Last I check this is a support group, right? What kind of support of you? For you to get upset over a member's comment, one would think you were lacking some relations..Girl, please lighten up a little. We are all starting a new..Let's make it fun

Also, as a mom of two toddlers, just had surgery...etc. I'm ok to avoid it.

Plus just b/c someone wants to avoid doesn't mean they are just fine, unless of course you are judging them.

As a parent of young children, some days my sleep is way more important than sex. oooh I must be headed to a bad place. blah!

I like the idea that you have sex when you feel healed and want to.

Try working full-time with four kids and going to school part-time. Not alot of help around the house. Being tired 24/7 and 150 pounds over weight to someone that wants it 24/7 and weighs 145 pounds and you would want a break too.

I'm hoping this weight loss will bring the spark back for me. But right now, it's just not there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
