I drank Isopure liquid flavored Water (flavors like apple melon, orange, lime, grape) from GNC. Each bottle was 40 gr. of Protein.

It wasn't too bad, and was easy because I didn't have to make anything! Just make sure it is chilled!

Good luck!

Terri

Hi Clv

I had my surgery 10/3/08 - I also drink Isopure - they have 40 grams of Protein and they come in different flavors, punch, rasberry, applemelon, pineapple, etc. There are also New Whey bullets. They are 3 oz, 42 grams of protein. They are also different fruit flavored. You can get them at health food stores, GNC, etc.

Hope this helps.

As an addition to luluc, I mixed up alot of egg salad, I could make it as thin as needed and it is wonderful Protein. I put some garlic powder, pickle relish, mayo in it.. as I got out of mushie stage I even added shredded cheese to it.

I also ate alot of Cottage cheese, again you can fork it and make it thin. When I got tired of it, I sprinkled McCormick's "season all" on top. later, after I was out of mushies, I topped my lettace salads with Cottage chesse as well as a very small baked potato for some added protein.

I drank sugar free carnation instant Breakfast. It taste great and has 20 gm of Protein and you can add fat free powdered milk to increase the protein quantity. It's chocolate so it curbs your sweet tooth. I bought it in bottles already mixed up but it also comes in powder that you add to fat free milk. I got sick of the Isopure real fast.

Hi. I am on mushies too. It's been VERY hard to 'feel' hungry when I have such little to eat.

But I am reading and researching so I can keep myself fed. Right at this moment I'm having cream of chicken Soup. It's way better than I thought. I also bought mushroom and celery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
