rockie 0 Posted October 23, 2008 hey guys. got a question. i am 2 wks post op. i quit smoking over a year ago and since then chewed a little nicorette or had a little dip from time to time. anyone had a bad experience doing this with the band? i know smoking sux but to come from 3 packs a day to a few pieces of nicorette or an occasional dip is a giant step for me. any bad experiences out there. mediummike 0 Posted October 23, 2008 I've had the VERY occassional dip and an even more occassional cigar with no problems - except as noted by Jack above !
rockie 0 Posted October 23, 2008 thanks for that input. ive had 1 dip and a couple of nicorettes, im just wondering about the long term affects. ive heard a lot about errosion etc. and no one seems to know what causes it. i guess the bottom line is that i will have to aspire to be like jack and defeat all my deamons
bassriley 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks for asking this. I quit smoking in January in anticipation of this surgery, and since January I hadn't had a single cigarette until after surgery. Since my surgery 3 months ago, I have had probably half a dozen cigarettes. I know, I shouldn't, but periodically I just fall off the wagon. I hadn't heard about a connection between erosion and nicotine, but that is perhaps sufficiently alarming to keep me from picking up another cigarette. I hope so, anyway.
