KimberlyJ 0 Posted October 22, 2008 HI all, I am 3 weeks post surgery and am getting hungry allot. How much should I be eating? I eat maybe 3/4 cup of food but my body doesnt tell me that I am full or hungry at that point. Maybe I am not eating enough in a sitting? I am still on mushy but other than greek yogurt nothing really seems to satisfy me. Please help!
rodriguezequal 3 Posted October 22, 2008 I was told that when you start getting hungrier that it's actually a good sign because it shows that the swelling is down and that you are healing well. I wasn't restricted on the amount I could eat really, I was told to eat until I start feeling full, but I tried to keep my portions under control and plus I was so afraid of getting stuck or vomiting I didn't eat very much  Good luck
KimberlyJ 0 Posted October 22, 2008 I am very much afraid of throwing up. I have a couple of weeks until my first fill. I will try to find more filling foods I guess and maybe eat a little more and see how that goes. Thanks for the input.
ajohnso2 0 Posted October 22, 2008 I am two weeks past and just had my doctors visit. I told him I was hungry. He told me to start eating "real"food, small bites, no liquids!! I started do that and I an not hungry. I know you said that you are still have a restricted diet, but try more filling foods.
KimberlyJ 0 Posted October 28, 2008 I have started regular food and am doing much better, I am still adjusting to how much to eat.. Thank god I dont get to the point that I get sick though. My throat actually feels tight when I eat a little too much so I am assuming that is my body's way of telling me TOO MUCH!
