What do people x-change?

Recommended Posts

I have some things, but I am not sure if there is anyone out there my size. right now, I think I am still 18-20 I am not sure. I have some things that are 16 but maybe I should keep those just in case. I know I have some things I dream of getting into. I can't wait to go through my closet.

I'm starting to outgrow things too. I have some 20s, some 22s and some 18/20s. Oh and some 2x and 1x and XL.

But what I'm wondering is, what kinds of clothes do people exchange? For example, what about my expensive, but hardly used bras? Or is that considered gross because they are underwear?

Do people exchange in lots or do they do it piece by piece? I'd rather just send off everything in one size to one person than having to send out many pieces.

My mom sent me her 'fat' clothes. Since she found out she has Hep C. she has to keep her weight down to make her liver healthy and has been successful at staying a size 8 for years now. But she's quite the pack rat and never got rid of any of her other sizes.

First, she sent me two boxes of size 16s and XL/L. This turned out to be more clothes than I owned at the time but I freely admit I'm a bit weird about clothes shopping.

Then she sent me the 14s. There were FOUR boxes. Granted, 3 were small copy paper boxes. But still. I don't think they'll fit in my closet. (They don't now, that's for sure, but it's full of the 16s.)

I guess I'm not much of a pack rat because I can't comprehend having 6 boxes worth of clothes in your closet that are in sizes much larger than you currently are. Hopefully, it was freeing for her to send them to me.

Anyway, whomever I bequeath them to when I'm done with those sizes, will be getting quite the gift. The 14s in particular have some *gorgeous* pieces in there. Lots of jewel tones, which I love and lots of business wear which is probably good for me since I'm jockeying for a promotion.

I'd be interested in anything, I'm about to have to go out in my jammies. I'm in an XL top, quickly moving toward L, and a 20/22 jean (seriously pear shaped)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
